  • If instead of just the names of the shapes pupils drew small diagrams of the shapes, each on a separate small piece of paper, then the activity can be extended to sort the shapes in many different ways. The shapes could then be sorted using a Venn diagram or table. Shapes could be grouped together according to their order of rotational symmetry, number of lines of symmetry, parallel lines, equal lines or angles.
